In this FotoFocus lecture and presentation, MODERNBOOK Publishing — A New Approach, Mark Pinsukanjana, founding partner of Modernbook Editions, the publishing arm of Modernbook Gallery in San Francisco, describes the house's unique approach to publishing and marketing works by emerging photographers. In 2011, Modernbook collaborated with The Museum of Photographic Arts( MOPA), San Diego, to publish their exhibition catalog, Streetwise: Masters of 60's Photography. Examples of Modernbook Editions — including newly released Fan Ho: A Hong Kong Memoir, with select images of the 1950s–60s — will be on view and available for sale after the lecture.
