Focus-Level Passport holders are invited to celebrate the FotoFocus Biennial 2014 with directors and curators and organization members from the more than 50 museum, gallery, school and community venues participating in this edition of FotoFocus.
Join the select group of Fotogrammers and submit your images by using #FotoFocus2014 for possible posting to the live Instagram feed in the Art Hub — a 25- to 30-square-foot cube with parachute "walls" — designed by architect José García for Washington Park. The FotoGram live feed may also be viewed simultaneously at Memorial Hall, 21c Museum Hotel, Japp's Since 1879 & Neon's Unplugged. The featured film for the Screenings exhibition will be on view at Lightborne Studios, 212 E. 14th St.
Triumph of the Wild
8 pm: A show of films, live musical accompaniment and solo performances, featuring the animated films of Martha Colburn with pianist and composer Thollem McDonas and Tatiana Berman and the Constella Ensemble.
Doors open at 6:30. Theatre opens at 7:30. Early arrival is recommended to enjoy complimentary appetizers on the lower level of Memorial Hall. For FotoFocus Passport Holders at the Flash, Zoom and Focus levels, the Contemporary Arts Center will remain open so you can view the exhibit at a leisurely pace. Once you’ve explored the contemporary art, enjoy a cocktail in the FotoFocus Lounge on the third floor.
Obscura, a classically and elegantly re-interpreted “cocktail lounge” in downtown Cincinnati offers the Jim Thompson Room for all FotoFocus Passport holders of all levels. Enjoy craft martinis and nibbles at reduced prices in the lavish leather surroundings named for the prominent American businessman who thrived in Asia.
